2009 begins with the launch of bowtownmusic.com. With co-founder Paula Hirson Bowtown Music Inc was created to provide recording, publishing, marketing and educational opportunities for up and coming talent.

The seascapes, still-life and portraits of Kuba Suttles transport you on a visual journey to a time and place where the light is soft, the colours warm and the pace of life less hectic. There is a feeling of coming home to traditional values where we are once again close to nature.

I  developed an interest in art early progressing from drawing to watercolour to oil and by the age of twelve completed a program with the Parsons School of Design New York. I  was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1946, moved to British Columbia in 1954 and now reside in Calgary, Alberta where I work as an artist, musician, instructor, producer and audio engineer.

Love of art is often connected to a love of music. Childhood was filled with choir and piano lessons and by the end of high school in 1965 I was swept into the world of  a touring musician. Music took me to places like Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Frankfurt, Germany; Tokyo, Japan; and accross Canada. My influences have been classical from my youth, rock from the late sixties and traditional and folk in the late seventies when I began to write songs. I have recorded two singles, two albums and now a solo CD. I have performed in almost every major folk festival in western Canada including the very first and second Vancouver Folk Festival, Nelson, Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Farrago, Canmore, Calgary, and Winnipeg Folk Festivals. I have performed many times at the Commodore in Vancouver with several different bands including opening for such great artists as Jose Feliciano and Shawn Phillips. It has also been my great privilage to perform on stage with some of Canada's top musicians like Valdy, Leon Bibb, Sheri Ulrich and Bruce Cockburn.
